Xochitl Keseley, LICSW

“My clinical interests involve women’s healthcare and mental health symptom management related to mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, stress and coping.”

Xochitl Keseley Therapist and Clinical Social Worker, MSW, LICSW. My professional areas of concentration include diagnostic assessments and individual psychotherapy with young adults. My clinical interests involve women’s healthcare and mental health symptom management related to mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, stress and coping. I have experience working in both outpatient and hospitalized psychiatric settings. I consider myself a generalist as my theoretical orientation incorporates a synthesis of several approaches, including, but not limited to, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and dialectical behavioral treatment.

I come from a bicultural family and am a dual citizen of both México and the United States. I consider myself part of a large, diverse community; a world citizen committed to promoting cultural pluralism. In light of this relational framework, my process is informal and often integrates humor to minimize the power differential inherently associated with the helping partnership. I believe in a strengths-based, holistic approach to promote healing and growth. I enjoy highlighting virtues that empower clients and engaging them in the process of positive change.

Understanding our strengths-based, relational approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. By focusing on emotions, psychotherapy seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
