I approach therapy in a collaborative, client-centered, systemic, and holistic way. I believe strongly in meeting clients where they are, and work to create an experience of safety and acceptance. I view this as a relational foundation for healing and growth. I support the development of resiliency by identifying and growing strengths within clients and their relationships, as well as adding new tools and skills for coping. I seek to increase understanding of how current emotional experience may be influenced by earlier life experience, including the values and history of the family, relationships, and culture in which one has developed and adapted.
I serve persons who experience a wide range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, relational problems, life transitions, grief, gender dysphoria, posttraumatic stress, and the effects of developmental trauma. I have a passion for serving persons who have experienced marginalization related to identity, including but not limited to sexual orientation, gender identity, and ethnic or religious identity.
I have training and experience in using EMDR, Clinical Hypnosis, Sand Tray Therapy, and Child Directed Play Therapy.
