As a therapist, I believe that authenticity and the therapeutic relationship are invaluable. I believe that therapy will not work if there is not a strong therapeutic alliance.

As a therapist, I believe that authenticity and the therapeutic relationship are invaluable. I believe that therapy will not work if there is not a strong therapeutic alliance. I tend to be a laid-back, compassionate clinician who values humor in session, but I am also not afraid to challenge you and be direct. I believe each individual is unique, therefore I do not believe there is one set way to do therapy. I value meeting individuals where they are at and learning about their strengths to help them in session. I specialize in the treatment of substance use disorders, trauma, eating disorders, depression and anxiety. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma and often try to view my clients from a trauma lens. I enjoy working with individuals from various backgrounds and look forward to the opportunity of working alongside you on your journey.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
