Jackie Fendler

Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker

One of my top priorities as a therapist is to help people feel comfortable in the open and supportive environment that i work hard to create for each and every one of my clients.

In my more than 30 years of experience as a clinician, I have provided mental health services to individuals, couples, and groups. I have also taught graduate-level clinical coursework at a local University. As a therapist, I view myself as an active member of a team comprised of my client(s) and myself. In therapy, we work on client identified goals with a focus on self-improvement and growth. We also frequently work on improving the quality of friendships and relationships in a person’s life. I have worked with individuals ages 16-90, and have worked with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, coming out to self and others, and family and relationship issues. I have specialized for years in working with GLBTQ folks and their families, but all are welcome here.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
