Katrina Seitz-Anderson

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

I assist young adult (18+) and adult individual clients in their healing from depression, anxiety, and relationship discord.

I assist young adult (18+) and adult individual clients in their healing from depression, anxiety, and relationship discord.  Clients I work with are often troubled feeling distressed, tense, or over-whelmed. Others may feel shut-down, numb, or cut from themselves or others. With time these experiences can lead to loss of energy, hopelessness, and feeling badly about ourselves. You do not need to remain stuck; change is possible.

I believe there is courage, strength, and, ultimately, healing when we express and release emotional suffering. I am committed to assisting you tap into your innate capacity for healing in a safe and supportive way. I attend to our therapeutic connection in order to ensure you feel understood and validated throughout our time together. With this support and your participation, you are open to explore your inner emotions, sensations, thought patterns, and behaviors. My goal is for you to integrate new behaviors outside of therapy so you live fully in the here and now, in your mind, body, and spirit.

I use an integrative approach to therapy which attends to embodied responses to your thoughts, emotions, and life events. I am an Intermediate Student of the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute and utilize Somatic Experiencing techniques to help clients heal their dysregulated and overwhelmed nervous systems. I like to use imagery and metaphors to help visualize and illustrate our life stories and experiences. Our lives are rich with ways to find and make meaning. I especially enjoy working with people who are motivated to heal old wounds to gain self-awareness, self-acceptance, and feel freedom from limiting past experiences and perceptions. I am an ally to the LBGTQ community and clients who may experience discrimination in our society based on their identity.

Outside of the office I like to work on various DIY home improvement projects, cooking new recipes, and cuddling with my cats.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
