Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor & Dialectical Behavior Therapy Certified
My approach to therapy focuses on the whole person including thoughts, emotions, physical health and wellness, behaviors, environment and relationships.
My approach to therapy focuses on the whole person including thoughts, emotions, physical health and wellness, behaviors, environment and relationships. I am committed to working collaboratively with each individual and believe a strong therapeutic relationship is key to beginning this process. I tend to be casual, laid back, direct, and value humor in sessions. I believe in being authentic and genuine with clients as I feel this creates an atmosphere that is caring, compassionate and free of judgement, where you feel comfortable being vulnerable and self-reflecting. I recognize the uniqueness in each client and tailor my approach to their individual needs. I emphasize empowering clients to take control of their lives and strongly believe if given the proper tools and resources, everyone is capable of persevering through life’s challenges and making positive change.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), a board approved supervisor for LPC/LPCC and have extensive experience working with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness including Borderline Personality Disorder, Psychosis/Schizophrenia, Trauma/PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety and Major Depression. I also enjoy working individuals struggling with anger, life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
I am a staff presenter for MN CIT and on the metro CISM team. I am familiar with the culture of public safety and greatly enjoy working with first responders/law enforcement.
I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to treat trauma using bilateral eye movements. I also trained in DBT, and CBT and incorporate these approaches into my practice. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and begin to make the changes you want to see in your life.
