I currently work with children, adults, couples and families, including in-home family therapy. As a therapist, I help my clients navigate through the many ups-and-downs of life and uncover a greater understanding and meaning in their experiences. My therapeutic approach is eclectic, empathic, strength-based, and collaborative, utilizing different therapeutic techniques to tailor therapy to each person’s individual needs and goals. Most commonly, I draw from person-centered, cognitive behavioral approaches, mindfulness techniques, psychoeducation, play therapy, solution-focused and motivational interviewing techniques. As we are all unique, therapy must be unique to each person as well. I believe that by establishing a trusting, supportive environment that is relationship-based, clients can gain the insight and tools to understand the roots of their present difficulties, allowing them to move towards healing, growth, empowerment and living a life of authenticity.

My ethnically diverse background along with my professional experience working with diverse clientele gives me valuable multi-cultural perspective on human psychology. My areas of specialty include: depression, anxiety, child and adolescent work, transitional challenges, relationship and family difficulties, family therapy, behavioral therapy, couples therapy, developmental disorders, mood disorders and anger related issues.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
