The desire to feel seen, heard, and understood is universal and is an essential part of human wellness. I try to help people understand, both emotionally and intellectually, the deeper roots of their difficulties and reignite their own natural gifts for learning, growth, and resilience.

Welcome. The desire to feel seen, heard, and understood is universal and is an essential part of human wellness. In my work as a psychotherapist I try to help people understand, both emotionally and intellectually, the deeper roots of their difficulties and reignite their own natural gifts for learning, growth, and resilience. I understand that coming to therapy can be difficult, and I strive to provide a warm, compassionate, and empathetic space for our work together. I am relational in my approach, and I believe that how well I listen and connect with you matters. I seek to help my clients develop self-awareness, confidence, and deeper intimacy and authenticity in relationships.

I offer safe and supportive counseling for people struggling with anxiety, depression, identity, intimacy, or relationship problems, as well as people who are interested in changing unhealthy patterns through deeper self-knowledge. I use an integrative, whole-person approach, incorporating mind, body & spirit. I try to adjust my clinical work based on the individual needs of each client. I utilize a mix of relationship-based therapy strategies and theoretical frameworks including psychodynamic, strengths-based, humanistic and relational perspectives, attachment theory, developmental repair, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness. Together we will create an individualized plan designed to fit your specific goals and desires.

Over the course of my career I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have inpatient hospital experience, as well as ten years as a Minneapolis Public Schools social worker. This strongly informs my work with children, adolescents and families. I have a special interest in but am not limited to adolescent and young adult development, parent/child relationship conflict, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger management, emotional dysregulation, loneliness, problems with work/school, family or social group, and women’s issues. I believe in the inherent dignity and worth of every human being; I am sex-positive and LGBTQIA+ allied. I look forward to meeting you.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
