My intention is to provide a safe, supportive environment within the therapeutic relationship.  My philosophy is strengths-based and holistic: I believe people have the capacity for resilience, creativity and resourcefulness.  My role is to help my clients get to that place of knowing this for themselves so they can move forward in their lives and thrive.

I am trained in mindfulness-based-stress reduction, and I am a Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach who has worked with a wide range of people on stress release, weight, exercise and nutrition.  I am also a Licensed Independent Social Worker.

I work with tweens, and teens as well as adults.  I often use a coaching approach to how I work with clients.  In addition, I utilize cognitive behavioral, solution-focused psychotherapy and attachment-oriented therapies to help individuals with loss, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, depression and anxiety.

My other specialties include extensive experience working with individuals who are dealing with chronic health conditions, parent counseling, postpartum depression, infertility, blended family challenges, caregiver burnout and compassion fatigue.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
