Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

My style is warm and interactive and I primarily utilize a client centered approach, meaning that I place strong value on your experiences and the lens through which you see the world.

In my practice, I value creating a strong, trusting relationship with my clients so that they feel comfortable and confident in our work together. My style is warm and interactive and I primarily utilize a client centered approach, meaning that I place strong value on your experiences and the lens through which you see the world. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients, providing knowledge and feedback, while also respecting that they are the experts on their lives and their experiences. My goal is to help them safely explore where they’ve been, as well as where they want to go, and create a plan for how to make that happen. Together, we can find the best path toward change and personal growth.

I specialize in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, life transitions, and stage-of-life issues. I draw from a variety of treatment interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, and have specialized training in trauma and grief work. I conceptualize cases from a relational, self-psychological model.

Before moving to Minneapolis, I studied counseling psychology at Northwestern University and practiced for several years in Chicago. I have experience working in an agency setting as well as in private practice, providing therapy to both individuals and groups.

Understanding our relational  approach can give you a sense of how psychotherapy can help. Unlike counseling and other types of therapy, it takes a perspective that’s both deeper and broader. By focusing on emotions, it seeks to discover hidden pieces of who you are and then to understand how those pieces fit together.
