Dr. Hadiya is a psychologist who enjoys providing psychotherapy for children (ages +6), youth, their families, and adults.  She seeks to work with Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), and other historically marginalized or underrepresented individuals. Hadiya has 8  years of experience working with a diverse range of children, youth, and their families in a range of settings including community mental health agencies, in and outpatient hospitals, schools, and other higher levels of care. Hadiya believes that psychotherapy is a space where we can gain better insight into our emotions, thoughts, and behaviours, and where we can access tools and strategies to learn, grow, and thrive in loving, safe families and communities.  Hadiya’s therapy practices center and challenge individuals to use their existing strengths and build new tools to help heal themselves and move towards a vibrant future.

Hadiya is trained in Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TFCBT) for children and youth. She has significant experience providing care coordination with social workers, teachers, and other care providers.

Hadiya holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from Marquette University and MA in Research and Experimental Psychology from Cleveland State University. She is working under the licensed supervision of Emily Van Wyk, Psy.D. LP, while pursuing her licensure as a Licensed Psychologist.
