Now Accepting New Clients

James utilizes a client-first, person-centered approach. James believes that therapy is a journey built for the client, with efforts from the client and professional alike. James lives and facilitates through the belief that therapy is most effective when the client is in the “driver’s seat”. With help from his cat, Moose (virtually), James is eager to explore the complex world of mental health with each client. James provides individual, group, and family therapy at client’s needs.

James has worked closely with populations recently discharged from the hospital, experiencing homelessness, and/or experiencing co-occurring physical or substance-related conditions. James has also worked directly with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, acute/complex trauma, identity, relationships, and family dynamics. He has worked closely with culturally diverse populations and those in the LGBTQIA+ community. James has provided therapy for individuals from ages 18 to 77 years, though he is willing to engage with anyone from their teenage years on.

James is a dual-licensed mental health professional, receiving both his Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor licenses through the Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy. James received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Professional Studies degrees from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
