Jennifer Stewart, MSW, LICSW

She/Her/Hers

Locations: Highland Park

Jennifer works primarily, though not exclusively, with couples, utilizing Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) and the Gottman Method. She brings a grounded, warm, person-centered approach to her work and is skilled at helping clients navigate a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, mood disorders, grief, spirituality, and self-esteem. Jennifer helps clients process complex issues through a strength-based, psychodynamic lens, offering practical skills and tools for day-to-day challenges using behavioral modalities such as CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and ACT. Her training in EFCT and the Gottman Method guides her in helping clients step out of intellectual entanglements and into emotional grounding and safety to foster connection in an attachment context —both with themselves and with others.

Jennifer provides a mindful presence without judgment. It is in her nature to want to encourage you to feel, learn, and truly be you. The truth is that instability and challenges in life are inevitable for all of us. It takes courage to choose an intentional and connected approach of self-reflection to make change happen. Jennifer welcomes all races, sexual orientations, physical or mental abilities, and ethnicities through an active and ongoing process of self-growth within the context of cultural humility. She embraces inclusivity as an innate value and strives to create a culture where all forms of diversity are respected.
