Kathleen is a compassionate, creative, collaborative therapist who listens deeply and inspires you to engage your healthiest thinking and take action towards the positive changes you desire. She connects with your personal and cultural strengths and your creativity. We may use song-writing, art, puppetry, Nguzu Saba, and other cultural practices to promote self-expression and growth.
Navigating the world can be exhilarating and challenging. Kathleen is passionate about supporting you in thriving, not just surviving! She is here to listen, to care, to celebrate your joys and support your struggles. She is honored to support you and your identity, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, teens, and elders, with and without disability. She will affirm your personal and cultural strengths, as well as your cultural ways of healing and growing. She encourages and empowers you as you embrace your strengths, engage meaningfully, and live your life authentically.
Her work is strengths-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed. She takes a holistic view; we are whole people who are shaped by intersecting identities, realities, and influences. She draws on creative modalities like Sandtray/art/music/roleplay, as well as Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. She facilitates a group for those who are contemplating retirement, a life transition that goes more smoothly with emotional and social preparation. Kathleen offers Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Both are helpful to ameliorate the negative impacts of trauma or to help you release unwanted patterns in daily life.
Over the last 20 plus years, Kathleen has worked in a variety of settings – medical, educational, disability advocacy, and mobile crisis. She will connect you to community resources that will best fit your needs and values. When not at work, Kathleen can be found enthusiastically bike-commuting through Minneapolis in all weather, as well as gardening, hiking, traveling, and Irish dancing.
