Lea Anne Schmidt, MS, LGSW
Locations: The Beach Club
Lea Anne loves meeting and working with people from all walks of life. She recognizes that life's challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, confused, or disconnected from ourselves and others. Grounded in compassion, curiosity, and respect, she helps people find their best selves, creating space for more joy, freedom, and connection in daily life. She works with adults, teens, and children navigating anxiety, ADHD, depression, grief and loss, trauma, and relationship stress.
In addition to working as a mental health therapist, Lea Anne is a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist with 25 years of experience supporting people across the lifespan, including those navigating neurodivergence, developmental delays and disabilities, trauma, chronic illness, and speech and communication disorders. She brings warmth, creativity, humor, and collaboration to the work, considering both nature (what we were born with) and nurture (our experiences and environment). She helps clients find practical strategies for immediate challenges while working toward deeper healing, cultivating their own internal resources so they feel calm and capable in the face of life's challenges.
Lea Anne is committed to ongoing training in trauma recovery and is currently completing a 50-hour training at the Anchored Relational Training Institute, which uses a dignity-focused, strengths-based approach to healing trauma for people of all ages and backgrounds. She builds on each client's strengths and moves at a pace that feels comfortable to them, honoring their lived experiences. Lea Anne is a relational therapist who incorporates a variety of therapeutic approaches, such as somatic, neurodevelopmental, psychodynamic, mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapies. With younger clients and their families, she draws on child-led play, imagination, and creativity, and has experience working in homes, clinics, and schools.
Lea Anne is the mother of four children, including two queer adults, a wife, daughter, sister, and owner of two large dogs. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, meeting new people, engaging in the natural world, and occasionally traveling abroad.
Lea Anne is working under the licensed supervision of Tressa Hunting, MSW, LICSW while pursuing clinical licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker.
