Not Accepting New Clients
Liza is a counseling psychologist with 14 years of clinical experience providing assessment and therapy services. Liza believes a strong relationship is crucial in making therapy worthwhile and strives to show understanding, curiosity, and acceptance in every session. Liza views therapy as both a science and an art. She approaches clients using evidence-based models but also believes in being creative in sessions and tailoring therapy to each client’s goals, preferences, and culture. While she takes her work seriously, she enjoys being down-to-earth, light-hearted, and practical with clients.
Liza received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 2016. She wears different professional hats, including teacher, researcher, and practicing psychologist. She is a licensed psychologist in Minnesota and has a PSYPACT license, allowing her to see some out-of-state clients through telehealth. Liza has worked in various settings, including university counseling centers, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. She enjoys working with diverse populations and specializes in academic and work-related concerns, neurodiversity, queer identities, life transitions (including the transition to parenthood), and relationship concerns. Liza enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, running, and playing any sport or game. She lives with her dog, partner, and children.
