Talya Cashman
Clinical Counseling Intern
She/Her/Hers
Talya’s goal is to help people better understand themselves– why we show up the way we do in the world, and how to move from a place of stagnation towards growth. She helps clients live their most authentic lives by understanding their values and recognizing how lived experiences can influence current behaviors. She leads sessions with warmth, curiosity, and understanding, aiming to help every individual feel comfortable and leave the session more equipped than when they arrived.
Talya uses an integrative approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and psychodynamic therapy. She helps clients understand the why behind their thoughts and behaviors. She believes we all can heal and provides clients with concrete skills and coping mechanisms they can use outside of session. Talya is currently offering individual therapy for adults and adolescents with a focus on depression, anxiety, attachment/relational concerns, and life transitions. She believes that despite our past traumas or experiences, human beings are innately resilient and can “rewire” maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors.
Outside the therapy room, Talya enjoys cooking, jigsaw puzzles, spending time outdoors, and all things fantasy-related.
Talya is working under the licensed supervision of Lauren Johnson, MA, LPCC, while completing her graduate internship program in counseling.
